Adopter Discount Cards

Zanewhoop June 9, 2019 21:40

Ive been advised that im entitled to a card that gives me and my AD discounts to various venues and shops etc - possibly allocated by the local authority - they couldn't remember the name of it. I did a google search and came up with the Max card for Foster cares and special needs but nothing else. Due to her special needs it looks she is entitled but I wondered if im looking at the correct thing and if any one else knows what it is ? Cheers xxx

Hi Zanewhoop

It will depend on the agency, and what they have in place. Max Card is for members of the Fostering Network - which Fostering Agencies will tend to fund membership to. Similar to AUK membership including Advantage which you can access discounts etc for.

I suspect this isn't an offer available to all families, unless specifically through an agency.

If she recieves DLA you can apply for a CEA card for cinemas. Its costs £6 a year and gives free entrance for a carer. Many places offer discounts or free carers tickets if you have DLA, check concessionary tickets - Ive had free tickets for all sorts of things. . I think Merlin may offer something for DLA holders.
