I've just found out that my son and DIL have been approved to go on to Stage 2. Can someone please tell me what Stage 2 involves. Thanks

Basically stage 2 is home study. Home study involves numerous (6 to 12) home visits by SW. Lots of challenging questions and discussions. Both as a couple and individually. SW then decides if they are a sitable couple to present to approval panel and SW writes a PAR (prospective adopters report) to present to panel. The PAR is also the document used when it comes to matching with a child once approved. G

Yes, they will go to panel but only if SW supports the application, its not guaranteed. Most go to panel. Its really stressful when family members keep asking for updates when in the process. Best to just wait until they share info and maybe offer support by offering help in cleaning house before SW inspection, that was well received in our household when my mum helped with scrubbing and dusting!
