Adoption books for 2 year old

Any suggestions for books about adoption for a 2 year old ... that also take account of being in a single parent family. Most I have heard of seem to have stories with 2 parents. Also, LO and I are of different ethnicities so any ideas about books suitable to explain that families come in all shapes and sizes would be great.

HiI'd highly recommend the Nutmeg series, I got mine second hand. Written by Judith Foxon, pub. BAAF. Lovely illustrations too. There is a series which I brought before my lill 2 yrs 10mths was with me. 1 book has been perfect, telling the whole story of adoption through Nutmeg the squirrel. We're still using it now 18 mths on and I'm sure will for a few years to come.Although its based on a 2 parent family because of the way it deals with so many issues it's worth skimming over the father figure!Hope you find some good ones

We have a lovely book called "I wished for you" by Marianne Richmond. Only Mama and Barley Ber feature in the book, so no other parents. All about Barley being Mama's "Wish come true". Also talks about looking different - "Mama, Said Barley, Me and you are in the same family, but we don't look the same, You have dark fur and I have light fur with brown ears."The most beautiful part of the book and made me cry .."Did you ever think", wondered Barley, "that your wish might not come true?""Oh yes.." said Mama, remembering how long the waiting seemed sometimes."I wished for you through many phone calls,.. and through mountains of paperwork. I wished for you while I waited and waited... and waited.Sometimes," Said Mama, "I didn't hear any news about you for weeks or months. But I held onto my wish tightly - like the string on a balloon"And it ends..."But I came true" said Barley, proudly."Yes, you did, Barley" Said Mama"I wished for you, and you are always and forever my wish come true"Mama and Barley stayed right there in their cuddle spot, both thinking that always and forever was a good amount of time. Our little girl loves this book, we are a couple and my dh does feel slightly left out! We have read it to her since she was just under 2.
