Following the Adoption Barometer, which revealed that adopted young people aged 16-25 are twice as likely to be NEET as their peers, and in light of many stories from adoptive families of the difficulties they have encountered in accessing appropriate further education, we are seeking the views of adoptees aged 16+ for a survey about accessing further education at any point in their lives.
We welcome responses from adopted young people and adults based anywhere in the UK. The survey is also open to those raised on other types of legal permanence order, e.g. SGO, CAO, RO. The key factor is that the person would not have been 'in care' or classed as a 'care leaver' on turning 16. There is no upper age limit for respondents.

We will be publishing a report in early 2020 which will be primarily based on the experiences and views of adoptees and care-experienced adults gathered both from this survey, and from a series of interviews which have already been carried out.
