Opportunity to take part in a research study about Educational Experiences of children with Pathological Demand Avoidance

Please find an approved research request below:Good afternoon,I am a trainee Educational Psychologist at University College London. I am asking parents and teachers about the educational experiences of children with Pathological Demand Avoidance, and the factors which make educational placements successful. Clinical reports suggest that children with PDA have difficulties at school. They may require higher levels of support, require special placements, and be at higher risk of exclusion. This research investigates children’s educational histories systematically, using a questionnaire which can be completed on your computer or on paper. The questionnaire asks parents about their child’s behaviour and educational history. We are very keen for the questionnaire to be completed by as many parents as possible so that we can form as clear a picture as possible about the educational experiences of children with PDA.While the research does not explicitly address children''s adoptive status, I am keen to ensure that adoptive parents are aware of the research and are able to take part if they choose to. If you are interested in taking part, please contact me on: ---- EMAIL REDACTED ---- . I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you
