We have two weeks to prepare this - looking for inspiration really. Id like to personalise the front cover but fear I dont have time and need to just focus on the contents which is more important! Any tips welcome!
Introduction book and video
It might be helpful to others to know a rough age range.
Mine were for school age children. They had a photo of themselves on the front then an inner page with a photo of the teddy I was planning to give them and asking them if they could find it on each page through the book.
Separate pages then for their bedroom, the bathroom, kitchen, lounge and garden with ted partially hidden in each photo (eg. Tucked up in their bed) with captions such as 'Ted thinks your bed is really cosy' and, 'Ted likes to eat cereal for breakfast. What do you like to eat?' End page was me holding Ted saying I was really looking forward to them coming to their forever home.
Video was done as me opening the front door and welcoming them in then simply showing them round the house - with Ted in each frame. Closed on me waving and saying, 'See you soon!!
Hope that is of some help.

Ours were also school age and we did it very similarly to @Leo. Our last page was a search game with details of some rooms (toys, a chair, etc.) with the headline along the lines of "Do you know which rooms these pictures show?"
We had a scene in the video with toys talking to each other about the kids moving in and how they were looking forward to play with them.
I would make a big effort with the book. My children still look at them - 9 years on! They should reflect reality, so if you don't like baking, don't mention it. My kids keep complaining that our house never looks as tidy as in the book...
