Has anyone used Coram - London or Hertfordshire LA

Hi Was just wondering if anyone had any experience of either Coram in London or Hertfordshire LA? We are just at the point of trying to decide. I like both. I kind of feel Coram will be more on it and that they will have more children to match with us (as we are mixed race) but I also feel like they were a bit negative towards us when we talked about ethnicity. Hertfordshire were much more positive on the open evening and I think they would let us start sooner. I think my heart is saying LA and my head is saying VA. Any advice?

Hi, I went through Herts and would be happy to answer any questions. I think it's difficult to say as, having worked with LA, I have no idea what it's like with a VA, and I assume it's the same vice versa. So I couldn't give a comparison but my experience of Hertfordshire was overall positive - some of their admin stuff was not great as they are so overworked, and from what I gather there is more bureaucracy with an LA, but we had a wonderful social worker and the approval process was pretty straightforward. That said, as soon as the AO came through we had no dealings with them whatsoever and that was 3 years ago, so I don't know what post-adoption support is like. Thanks BlueBoo, it seems that they are both good so either way sounds like we will be in good hands, which is reassuring.
