Children''s party during the final :-(

kstar July 6, 2013 00:21
Emotionally divided about this Sunday... So thrilled that LO has been invited to a birthday party already after just four weeks at school, but who on earth organizes a party that clashes with the Wimbledon final?!?!?! For the kind of person who would get up in the middle of the night to watch matches at the US/ Australian opens and for whom the world stops turning when Murray plays it''s going to be torture!!!

Every year I get excited about Wimbledon and then hardly see anything. Amazingly managed the Murray match on Friday - my first full match this year - as it was on late enough and didn't coincide with any child orientated event. Luckily I have a 'window' for the final - as long as it doesn't last tooooo long! Can't you just 'drop off' at the party though? I suppose it's too early days for you.

Lol I know, I understand all that and I do have my priorities right... I am just a massive Murray fan and having followed his career since he was a junior I would genuinely be gutted if I missed seeing him win it!!! There may be a Wimbledon final every year but we haven't won it for 77 years!! And we have a fridge full of party invitations for the next few weeks lol.Apparently dropping off at parties isn't the done thing round here:-( she actually wants me to leave her lol, she is incredibly socially confident... But I will smile and make conversation like I should! I think the pity for me is that we watched the semi together, tucked up on the sofa with a bowl of popcorn and were both hoarse with screaming at the TV by the end! That's my kind of family moment :-)

welcome to Motherhood! Well done for managing to maintain a hobby/interest. Mine seem to have drifted away, I no longer even miss some of the things that were essential in my life.I hope you manage to tape the final so you can watch it on your return. Just remember to keep the radio or news off

Awwww it's not her who is lucky, it's me, she's awesome! I know I will be holding back the tears watching her charging round playing musical whatever and no doubt screaming a lot (her favourite past time) and will probably forget all about Murray... Hmm well maybe not but hey.Just nice to be able to have a moan on here so that I can paint on a smile and pretend I don't care tomorrow!!!
