....... we must all try to post more positivity : -) Small child (2), sat on large child's (4) back in the bath, this morning. Large child is singing "20 little ducks went swimming one day" through all 20 verses (she worked that out, we do 5). Small child chimes in, just slightly late, on every "day", "away", "quack, quack, quack" and "came back". I think it's impossible to explain to someone who doesn't have kids quite how fascinating these silly, prosaic interactions are when it's your kids.

I am currently doing a counselling course and after one small group session when we had been doing skills practice (taking turns as counsellor and client) one of the young women came up to me and said that she thought what I (we) had done in adopting was a really positive and lovely thing to do - she then said she was adopted herself and she had suffered alcohol and drug problems for years which she had dealt with and was now helping others - as a result of the trauma she had suffered before she was adopted. I thought it was a lovely thing to tell me and also so positive that she realised this herself and I also wondered if she had said this to her own parents?

Sticky went to a birthday party, only the second this year, this is a big deal as she is desperate to have freinds but due to her lack of social skills they haven’t happened. She remembered her pleases and thank yous and came out very happy, we now need to invite the party girl over for a play date and maybe even a sleepover.
