What a desperately frightening experience for you both - you’re doing the right thing for both of you but especially your daughter by being there. I hope her condition improves soon - I’ll be thinking of you and praying for you both - take care

Didn't want to have to say this and I'm still upset, she was admitted to hospital 2 days ago and in the past few hours has had to be put on to a ventilator. I'm terrified I'm going to lose her, I love her, she's my world.

All I can say is I’m with you in spirit - and I hope you have good friends or family around who can support you in person

Hi,

my son had a brain haemorrhage and husband had a catastrophic brain injury. The were both on ventilators, so I can fully appreciate every emotion you are going through at the moment.

Whilst your daughter is ventilated, the machinery and tubes look frightening but please take comfort in that the machinery is doing all the work so the body can rest and heal.

Speak to your daughter, play her favourite music/ songs, , tell her what’s happening, or the dogs missing her or her favourite teddy is missing her. She may hear you. Hopefully you will be allowed to touch her and hold her hand.

Hopefully, you will have been given a room in the hospital, and I imagine you will be her only visitor, so take time out, you too need to rest. Try to get some sleep, staff will come for you if you are needed..

I sincerely hope that tomorrow is a better day, look after yourself ?

Thank you for the kind messages everyone. Unfortunately she is still on a ventilator and we haven't had any good news yet
