Moving on up.....

jonathan42 July 26, 2013 11:03
....to the Adoption boardThis week we have had introductions than have been very tiring for all. The foster family to our new daughter (under 1yr old) have been nothing short of amazing and we hope we now have new friends for life.On intros day 1 our daughter let us cuddle her and even fell asleep in my arms(trying now to keep my manly composure). Since then things have only improved further to the point that she holds her arms out for us, gives us kisses and is so relaxed around us, currently she is having her morning nap upstairs in her cot.Even our BS has been amazing, he suffers a little from anxiety and has had to tackle this full on but we are so proud of him and his status as a new big brother. He is still understandably nervous but with his new sister reaching for him for hugs and games he will only go upwards from here. What an amazing week and what an amazing daughter and family I have.

Congratulations!! Your BS sounds like a little star to me, hope he enjoys being big brother! As for you "manning up" at cuddle time........ forget it. I think I have cried more in the last 2 years than I have in my entire life, its just part of being a Dad!Enjoy it!

well done - isn't it lovely when you don't have to take them back! in the last few days of intros I found it really hard to drive away - and well done on the long sleep on day one, its taken us our first week to really get that right - think (crosses everything) we're there now.C
