Ratings for la''s

Pear Tree January 10, 2012 08:06
hiI''m involved in various health charitiesAs part of this we are encouraged to rate our local hospitals for the care we have received from the various services they are offering (or supposed to offer!) This has provided a patient rating And it''s a big help when deciding what hospital to go to for operations etcIt''s also started to get noticed by the inspectorate and the hospitals themselves who have started to answer the points as they are on the Internet for the world to see and no one wants consistently poor ratings for after care and descriptions of hopeless disorganised clinicsSoCan we have something through auk for this please for la''s and va''s?I know there''s a map of uk and where you can try locally for adoption things so the ratings could appear there? What do others think?

hi pear tree, i'm all for it but suspect auk will be reluctant as they are trying to sell services to the LA's and would therefore probably like to avoid anything negative being said.filmbuff

Want to let the people who read my removed post about social workers stars that the list with names was made up as a joke.

im not familiar enough with the various social media sites but I know linkedin has the facility to do polls. there may be a good number of people on here who are also on facebook - does anyone know if there is a poll facility on facebook? maybe we could do a "rate your LA" poll on there?filmbuff

umm... if we rate the la on facebook then our true identities will be public and the la that we are rating.... this may not bode well for good supportive relatiosnhips with the sw....

Sounds like a great idea Pear tree but you’d have to worry about being indentified / confidentiality, could it be done anonymously... now it’s made me think of a surveying site used at work and I seem to think it was a freebie just had a look but couldn’t find it but I’ll continue to search.Or I wonder if it’s possible; could there be a feedback forum where the user was blanked out perhaps.

Totally Agree!I think rating LA adoption services and other services through social services that we use - SHOULD be part of the OFSTED process - and I think it should be made public - in the same way parents are contacted during the school OFSTED and also send out parent satisfaction forms each year.I suspect social services and many of the adoption services would be very worried about the feedback recieved though - so many would be unlikely to do this voluntartily - but OFSTED ought to make it a requirement and I think if you agree - take the opportunity to inform the powers that be - through the ongoing public consultation that is currently being carried out about the overhall of the inspection of adoption services.

You can find ratings for USA adoption agencies, so why not the same thing here in UK. It would be very helpful ... !!! Even if not popular ... with some!!!
