Yes you are right, no changes are being made to the message boards. As this was one of the things people most wanted, I think there's quite a lot of us who feel sold short. How many of us regular, long-term board users actually look even weekly at other parts of the site - I don't, my bookmark takes me straight to the message boards, I rarely even look at the homepage. I gave up with things like the Adopter Diaries years ago because people started them and never updated them.I made this point during the testing but was told that because there is so much useful information on the boards it would all have been lost in a revamp (I actually think a skilled company could have managed this and made it available in an archive format), so they decided to leave the message boards alone. I'm afraid that to me is a cop-out as if you look carefully messages over about 18 months old 'fall-off' and are tidied and deleted anyway.I get the distinct impression that AUK were 'sold a pup' with the web design company and just had to go along with it (Frankly I'm pretty disappointed, can you tell ) To wait what mut have been 18+ months for more flexible message boards etc. and AUK alluding to improvements, its a non-event to me I'm afraid; a missed opportunity. If another message board forum I belong to with thousands of users and one person running it who works full time in another career can switch board hosts over a weekend, AND not lose any content, or anyone's logins etc., I fail to see how AUK can manage not to get a web design company to organise a new one.Sorry no plaudits from me I'm afraid, I'm sure it all looks very nice, but I don't actually find it easier or clearer to navigate (the side bar was better than the header tabs).Rather candid, but I'm afraid that's how I see it Midge

Oh and after typing that I've now found that long posts will be harder to type as you can no longer 'select' the text and right-click to 'copy' it to prevent you losing a long piece of text in case your login has timed-out when you hit send - doesn't work any more - rubbish!!Midge

How do I stop the message boards being so wide??? It is so hard to read!

Just another point to make is that it doesn't seem possible now to cut and paste links to relevant media articles, or, indeed, copy and paste highlighted extracts from said articles. Unless it's me being more technically inept than usual (in which case, I apologise), then I personally think this is a big miss because I'm always interested in how adoption is portrayed in the media and I like to keep an eye on relevant issues, such as the ContactPoint debacle.SM

sorry, have just seen this- having posted on the main adopters board.

I feel quite annoyed now. I don't feel a new website launch has benefited me personally at all as I only use this bit. Fine if you're looking for stats on adoption or are new to all of this.I also hate that when I log in it keeps coming up with flippin username and you have to faff deleting it etc.Sorry to moan, but I thought this part was going to see new changes and I agree that there are plenty of very good message boards and this one does seem 'clunky'.AUK - are there plans to give us something new too here?

hate the password thing, takes me longer to get here, hate that it is sttttrrrreeeeeeetttcccchhheeedddd across the page, think the boards are actually worse than before. Don't use the rest of the site very much as have done hs and waiting matching panel in a couple of weeks.

Being fiddling.Found that if I log in on the home page then go into message boards, the boards are the same size as used to be, can then navigate back to home page. blogs etc and can copy and paste from pm's (haven't tried anything else).

Well I've tried the suggestion to log in from homepage, but I still feel my eyes are being stretched across the screen as if I'm viewing the sorld from inside a goldfish bowl - any other suggestions as to how to get the boards back to a manageable size on screen, please :-omtw

Don't like the wide screen. It's like learning to read all over again - or like learning to use my varifocals all over again when my head was moving from side to side.And, when I tried to insert a smilie into a message it kicked me off - and even though my message appeared it has 3 boxes with crosses in rather than smiley faces.

Why is it every time I try to log on it takes 5 attempts???GREAT NEWS....This time I have the old board size back...WoW...it is SOOOO much better the old size....Wish I knew how I have done it....I want it to stay this size every time...I have to say I am finding it very tiring with all this faff just to get on line to read/post!!!!HOPE ITS JUST SET UP/TEETHING TROUBLE & IT SETTLES DOWN......(sorry guys for the shouting)xx moo xxxx

I've put my comments on the thread on the 'tell us what you think' board.Basically, I agree 100% with everything Midge said. I feel fobbed off and am quite cross that no effort has been made to update the forums.
