Adult Adoption....

I am an american citizen and have been part of a family here that took me in when my family had problems, I have been part of the family since I was 12 and am 26 now. I lived with them permanently since I was 16 years old. My dad, as he is, is a british citizen and so are my sisters and mum. My dad moved back to wales about 2 years ago and the rest of my family just recently moved. I want to move to the uk and be with them permanently, but because we never finalised are relationship in america, the uk doesn''t seem to be able to recognise are relationship to each other. I can only get temporary stay in the uk and if i move there i wont have anywhere to come back to in the u.s. Is there anyway to get help in this process, I know i can not get citizenship right away, but i''m not bothered with that yet. I just want to be with my family, i''ve never been without them for the last 14 years and they really want me over there with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated, i''ve tried going through the technical law, but i''m not a lawyer and don''t know what exactly to make of it.
