Do the membership get heard?

I dont know where to post this. I just feel that Adoption Uk has thrown the baby out with the bath water. We have asked, pleaded, requested nicely, been promised new boards for years only to get the same ones a couple of years back. So we ask and plead again for private boards. This goes back over 8, yes 8 years! In the meantime some of us are lucky enough to find private groups that we can post on privately. Not set up by Ad Uk of course.I had a crisis with one of the children of a very senstive nature last weekend. I couldnt post publically. Thank goodness I have a private group to post in. I had excellent advice and support given to me and in turn that was of huge benifit to one of my children. How sad that it was nothing to do with Adoption Uk. I just want to say, it''s very sad and difficult for adoptive parents. We cant go public with some stuff. Our anonimity is too important.Just as important as for military personnel IMHO.It feels like we do not have a voice here, thats how it feels. I read the stapline on the website about Ad Uk being by adoptive parents for adoptive parents but it dosent feel that way. I have 3 adopted children and feel I should have a voice but I dont. In the main my voice feels so insignificant in this charity. So insignificant I rarely use it here anymore. Adoption can feel like a very lonely journey and I strongly feel Ad Uk needs to listen hard, think hard and deliver. Eight years in and i''m not very hopeful anymore.

Question for AUK - do AUK receive funding specifically for the purpose of supporting military families, some of which is used for private boards?

Madrid, I did raise a lot of these issues with the website designers when I took part in their survey, but to be honest I didn't get the feeling that much would change on the boards, it seemed to be more about adding information to people thinking about adoption. The one question I omitted to ask, was when these new changes were likely to be implemented. I asked Auk this question on the General Thread on their "Update of the Website" header at the top of the page, but as usual I have had no reply, so have no idea whether we can expect it this year or next year. They talk about communication and catering for their members needs, but all they do is ignore us, and then clamp down on us or lock our threads when we complain. We can't win can we? This is why I am not a paid up member.

Still no response from Auk. Surprised, not really. They say they read all posts within 24 hours, but I guess not any where we ask questions they refuse to answer. "Just ignore them and they might go away"Hardly a caring response from a site "by Adopters for Adopters" and they wonder why we are fed up!Will probably lock this thread now.

Totally agree. Even the revamp, when we were led to believe the boards would be included, was 2 and a half yrs ago. These boards havent changed in the 8 yrs i've been using them. It's nuts. As to the privacy issue. Given that the forced adoption group indicate they have these boards read, it just proves the point of privacy. We do feel like the crumbs of this organisation because we are, sadly.
