Just sharing this because I seem to be suffering from a bout of insomnia and it tickled me ... AS, aged 8, has always helped me with the laundry. A year or so ago we were in a rental place for our holidays and the previous occupant had left a couple of those squidgy pouches of laundry liquid that you just chuck into the machine. The scent was supposed to be "Tropical Lily" or some such and AS spent the rest of the holiday unconsciously acting out what could be said to be his version of a TV ad "ummm; our laundry smells so good!". Doing a bit of research (!) I discovered that these laundry squidgy things were half the price of my usual brand (now who sounds like a "soap advert"?!) and with empirical data (the laundry was perfectly clean) I decided to switch brands to the Tropical Lily. No regrets! Yesterday AS and I were doing the laundry and he suddenly takes a pair of his pants, straight out of the machine. Puts them to his nose and says "ummm. That smells so good; so much better than when they went in". Silly, perhaps? I didn't notice him smelling his underwear on the way in to the washing machine. I'm not sure that I care. I just thought that it was really quite funny. Gotta get your kicks where you can. Peahen.
