first meeting

Hi, I''m a single adopter who''s just been matched with a 10 month old baby girl and I''m meeting her for the first time this coming Wednesday. The meeting will only last about an hour. Any advice on key things to ask the carer - or specific ideas on things I should/shouldn''t do with my daughter? I''m quite experienced with small children so the issue isn''t how to treat a small child but whether I should do anything differently with a little girl who will soon be with me forever.

Wow, how exciting for you! XxNo advice from adoption side, as I'm still at home study point, but I would say find out as much as you can about routine, smells (ie shampoo, washing powder) Other than that, good luck x

Thanks! I'm really excited and can't quite believe I've reached this point!! Yes, I plan to ask about brands of shampoo/nappies/milk etc. Hope I don't end up spending half the visit with a pen and paper making notes...

Hi Sitikus, There's a huge long list posted at the top of the Approved Prospective Adopters board entitled 'Potential Questions to Ask FCs' which could be really good to look through. All the best for Wednesday, Lolapola x
