DLA-we got it

louie March 13, 2013 14:27
After 2 years of putting off filling in the forms, in January I did and have just had the letter to say that DS qualifies for middle rate care component and lower rate mobility component. Feels weird: in some ways I feel like all the extra care my DS needs is being recognised (even though we have a multitude of professionals helping now!) and in others it is sad because yes his issues are real and he does need some much more care. An odd duality.Let''s hope his statement application runs as smoothly.

Well done, louie. We just got ours renewed for five years, and you're right, the validation that your child has problems is as welcome as the money.I'm never quite sure what it should be used for, but I use ours to pay for holiday activities to give myself a break for a couple of hours, and to help with expenses for trips out, as if we go to a theme park or any other attraction, or even just for a pub meal, we usually have to take along another adult,Papergirl x
