Could you be a media volunteer during National Adoption Week?

Anonymous October 1, 2013 17:33
Hello everyone, National Adoption Week (Nov 4-10) is normally a very busy time for our media team as we get lots more press enquiries during this week. In order to meet as many of these as possible and spread the word about adoption we are looking for more people to join our group of media volunteers. We aim to expose the joys and realities of adoption to a wider audience to help shape policies and campaign for better services for adoptive families. Working with the media can promote awareness of adoption and bring attention to issues affecting adoptive families. Sharing your story can also support others who might be going through a similar experience or encourage prospective adopters to find out more about adoption. We are looking for all types of stories from prospective adopters right at the start of the process to those who are several years into an adoption. We are particularly interested in stories that illustrate some of the problems or difficulties faced by adoptive parents, and where policy and practice needs to be improved, but also those that highlight where good practice exists, where there have been positive experiences, and why certain things are important in adoption. If you feel you could share your story to support Adoption UK please get in touch: ---- EMAIL REDACTED ---- / 01295 752 270 Thanks Naomi Adoption UK Press Assistant
