Fathers day

Siliwen48 May 26, 2019 21:42

Hi Father’s Day is coming up and I wondered if anyone has some tips for how to explain to a 3.5 year old about having a mummy but not a daddy? She’s been with me for a year and a half and is well settled in but unfortunately life story work has only just started (long story) so we are very much at the beginning of her story. Thank you!

Mary Hoffmann's Great Big Book of Families is great too. It shows the huge variety of families.

I often get the why don’t I have a dad conversation’, I usually Talk about different types of families and relate it to people we know. I point out that although there is no dad there are lots of other wonderful people in my daughter’s life.
