The Comms team has received the following request:

Press and PR July 24, 2019 16:46

I’m a reporter and producer for BBC Inside Out in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

We are a weekly current affairs programme, making 9 minute long documentary style films that form part of a 30 minute programme.

We’re back on air in September so I’m hoping to research and film something that will be broadcast around that time.

I’ve been contacted by a Yorkshire family who had a disrupted adoption and want to highlight the challenges facing parents. I’m keen to talk to other parents about their experiences to illustrate the impact of disrupted adoption on families and whether they feel there is enough support for those going through the process.

I appreciate it’s a very sensitive subject and not an easy one to talk about. Initially I’m looking to chat to people for research purposes and eventually I’m looking for people who’d be prepared to take part in filmed interviews.

I’d appreciate any help you can offer finding case study families who may be able to talk about their experience either of disrupted adoption – or of facing challenges as adoptive parents. People who may have for example at times considered adoption disruption but have managed to sustain their adoption.

Best wishes Abi Jaiyeola
