Searching elsewhere

Marcy October 10, 2020 16:35

I wonder if anyone can help me out please? Someone said to me that once I pass the panel I don’t necessarily have to stick with my LA I can go and family find elsewhere too like Barnado’s.

Is this true? I have been on this journey for two years now and I just want to ensure that I have exhausted all avenues. I know that patience is key in this situation but I think I’m losing the mental willingness

appreciated.

Hi Marcy, Yes, the best place to look is here, on linkmaker. It looks to me as though you already have a confirmed membership - you have a green tick beside your name. It's really important that your profile highlights some of the unique things you have to offer an adopted child. Include things like strong support network, any particular experience of special needs, understanding and willingness for contact arrangements, voluntary work with children, good playgrounds, days-out, schools etc. in your area.

Good luck - don't give up!
