A coffee morning for everyone involved in adoption is being started in the Manchester area.It is going to be a monthly coffee meet for adopters, adoptees and prospective adopters.Please private message Buttercup81 if you are interested and would like to find out more.To send a private message to Buttercup81, use the Search facility to find a post she has written. Above the post will be a button: ââ¬ËMsg Userââ¬â¢. Click on the ââ¬ËMsg Userââ¬â¢ button.You will be presented with an empty template. Add a title/subject to your private message. Hi allJust a quick note to add, if anyone is looking at this event and thinking they would like to come or enquire but dont want to give up the fact that they are annonymous on here dont worry your user names will be protected.If you private message me - i will reply with my personal email address - from that you can just email me your first names, at the moment the enquiries are coming in thick and fast thankfully - so thanks to Adoption UK for their support on this. When your email arrives I will now know who is who and as such you will remain annonymous! All we ask on the day is that nobody discuss user names from here to protect you as adopters being able to post openly and freely and also the children whom posts may be talking about.Obviously my user name and name will be known by the end of the first session but I have a new user name lined up which will give me that back! How do we go about arranging this in other areas?I really like this idea, but Manchester is too far! :-)

Hi Polly PocketI personally have arranged a venue - not in my immediate area but close to the motorway for anyone coming from the area but a little further afieldi managed to negotiate a very good rate in the church hall which means i dont need to charge people to attend so it is purely a socialHowever dont do as I did and post directly to the boards as it breaks the rules - send it to the online community team via private message and they will authorsie it and post on your behalf if they are happy to support it - the only thing i would say is that users really really really want to remain annonymous on these boards so if you are going to organise it then you need to ensure you think of a way round making it a safe social even and not identifying people by user name - PM if you want any more info and goodluck!Buttercup xx

The first coffee morning took place the saturday just gone and was a huge success, thanks to all of you from these boards who attended and those who emailed me to put their names down for future ones.We had attendance of around 30 people (including kiddiwinks) we ate lots of cake, drank lots of tea and coffee and the kids seemed to enjoy the play, and picnic style lunchMaybe we could start some themes going for future ones to add to the fun!
