Firstly sorry you are in this situation and i am sure no one wants to judge you. You need to contact your local authority who will get the social workers who deal with adoption to contact you. A baby who has been relinquished for adoption would certainly not be passed around the system as there are many approved adoptors waiting who would be delighted to adopt your baby. I hope you can get the support you need as this will be a difficult time for you whatever you decide ,good luck

Confused why dont you go over to the mumsnet forum . There is a post on there from a lady who was in your position not so long ago. I cant remember what it was called but she was given a lot of advice on there and she was asking similar questions . You may have to do a search for it. Also there is at least one poster on their adoption forum whose story would be very helpful to you. I hope that you find that helpful and that you are able to get the right support to enable you to make the right decision for you and your baby because whatever you decide is not going to be easy. Good luck

pluto, this is really not a helpful response. Contraception does fail, we know nothing of her personal circumstances, Im sure she is quite aware of the long term impact of an abortion, I assume thats why she hasnt gone through with it. She doesnt need a lecture on birth control. A bit if empathy wouldnt go amiss. Confused, if you havent already looked at the mumsnet thread I think you should. Adoption may or may not be the answer for you, maybe you can find a way to keep your baby, but please dont make any hasty decisions

Oke I deleted, she asked for advise. Confused my advise is keep the child, it might not fit in your planning but life has surprises sometimes. The two options open to you both suck long term.

ok she asked for 'advice' on would happen if she relinquished the baby she didnt ask for advice on whether to have an abortion or keep the baby, she certainly didnt ask for a patronising lecture on birth control or to be told to seek a 'permanent' solution the whole tone of pluto's post was a headmistress dealing with a naughty child,

I think the best thing we can do to help the original poster is to offer practical advice and not to judge or be unkind. Moving on, has anyone got some ideas that will really help her? Original poster: I was wondering if you have anyone you can talk to about this? Perhaps counselling might help you think through the issues and possible outcomes of future actions? Have you considered speaking to the AUK Helpline? They may have some good ideas or contacts that might help you.

I can't even begin to understand what you are going through. My heart goes to you. And I think you are a great mum, because you are putting your feelings aside and you are trying to see the big picture, to think about the well being of all your children. You are brave. No one should say anything else, not even give advice if to keep or not to keep the baby, until they walked in your shoes and struggled with your everyday life problems. I can't have children. Me and my husband we are trying to adopt. Hopefully, at some point in the future, our dream will come to life, to adopt a healthy child, because of a brave person like you. I wish you all the best, more than the words can say.
