Christian adopters

I have seen/ heard plenty of people say negative things in relation to experiences in assessment process! Just wanted to say as a single female Christian I have nothing but a positive response from agency, and Church community is even identified as a positive by the Agency Decision Maker approving after panel!

I am also a single female Christian adopter and I am pleased to say i have had exactly the same response. It's good to know that religion is seen as a positive!

We are a Christian couple who adopted our lo in October 2014. We did not have any issues with our faith, We did lend a copy of "Home for Good" to our social worker which led to our Agency supporting the work done by this faith based adoption and fostering charity.

We too are a Christian couple and had a really positive assessment experience - our SW turned out to be our minister's old Sunday school teacher! Sadly the support we got from our church family post adoption was lacking.... We have since moved and our current church family are far more supportive :)

Yup, christian couple here as well, and church support was viewed as a positive.

I do not know if you are aware that Day One has recently published a booklet about adoption: https://www.eden.co.uk/shop/help-i-need-to-know-about-the-problems-of-adoption-4519817.html Day One is a Christian publisher so the booklet is written primarily for a Christian readership. It may not tell adoptive parents anything that they do not already know. However, it could be helpful to prospective adopters, schools, churches and others.

Yes also a christian couple. There is a large community of fc and a couple of other adoptors in our church so that was seen as a big plus .
