Inspirational words - Thank you

Hi alljust read Suffolk Punch''s response to Mama 1''s posting entitled "what do you think".I shall re-read your postings several times Suffolk Punch to absorb again and again. You speak such wise words of acceptance and peace and calm with your situation and I can relate to them wholeheartedly. We all hope so much for our ac to live the lives we had envisiged for them, and sadly that is just not possible with some of them. The disappointment/heartbreak can be a major catastophe in our lives. Hubby and I have never had to work so hard in all of our 60 years, as we have with our second ad.But I will remeber SP''s words - "it is her life and not mine, they are seperate".We do not know how her life will turn out, and sometimes it feels we will never be free to stop this hard, hard work in trying to help her, sort things out for her, but we can''t walk away. She will need us for ever, we did not ask for a special needs child, but we have ended up with one - one who cannot see the consequences of her actions, who will do what anyone asks of her etc etc. but maybe, just maybe she will survive into adulthood. We have to stop fighting and accept her and her life choices.I hope in addition Mama1, you overcome your anxieties and problems, as I hope we all do, but only time will help, and that just trundles on. So lets keep hope in our hearts, but remember that we are not our ac, and they have to live their lives as we have to also.Sending love to everyoneJanie2 x

Yes janie2 I agree. Mrs. Puff has walked the walk and lived the life and been there and got the T shirt and come back with it bloody but unbowed - well I'll stop mixing metaphors, you get the idea. I find her reflections very helpful re my own very difficult but very much loved adult son. Even if she is reticent on the other boards, I hope she will continue to help us on this older board.
