Hmmm. I don't actually think it is over diagnosed here. It's far from easy to get a dx, maybe it's different in the US. Pre meds, it wouldn't have mattered how calm and regulated I was, my boy would not have been able to regulate himself through yoga or anything else. Far more likely to have tried to deck the yoga instructor or anyone else who upset him! Dd was also assessed for adhd. She wasn't dx and I think that was quite right - equally I think the dx is absolutely the right one for ds. Without meds he wouldn't have been able to access any of the support on offer.
