Told she''s fit for work by the appeal tribunal

twoplustwo November 13, 2012 22:44
This isn''t for me it''s for a relative who is at her wit''s end. She has serious mental health problems and is on the autistic spectrum. She has been told by atos she''s fit for work and also by the appeal tribunal. Her GP says that she isn''t fit for work (in fact she has a sick note to prove it) and that it would put her at grave risk. She has just over 2 weeks to assemble and submit an appeal against the tribunal decision. She says that there are several errors in the tirbunal papers she''s been sent. Also that the findings of the tribunal are based on speculation rather than evidence. Does anyone know of any organisation, other than Welfare Rights (who she is already in touch with) that might be able to help her fight the decision?

I've no experience, but I wonder if some of the mental health charities could offer help and assistance?

national autistic society might be able to help, but also looking at bbc websites as they have covered this on various programmes and atos sponsoring the paralympics was considered 'odd' by several in the world of disabilitesI think some of the papers may have also covered this and it's a good way to find out what grounds other people have used
