Hi all, Just to confirm that this request was sent through via Adoption UK's press office and was not a direct post from a journalist. Best wishes, Joe
Hello everyone. My name is Lauryn Pierro and I am a student investigative journalist. I was adopted at the age of two and over the past couple of years I have dedicated my work to telling the stories of those within the adoptive community. I am currently working on an investigation looking into how the coronavirus pandemic has affected adoption rates and the foster care system across the UK. I am further looking into the ethnic breakdown of successful adoptions during the pandemic and of the referrals that foster homes have received. By referrals, I mean a child being placed into foster care from their biological family home. The coronavirus pandemic caused the whole world to come to a complete standstill and forced people into unprecedented times. Understandably, some individuals decided it wasn’t the right time for them to adopt. I am looking to speak with prospective adoptive parent(s) who decided not to adopt during COVID-19. Names can be changed and or kept anonymous all together should you feel more comfortable with this. Feel free to email me at laury[email protected] Thank you for your time. Best wishes, Lauryn
