Private OT assessment

AuntieS September 29, 2020 13:37

I have a permanent physical disability and have been asked to get a private occupational therapy assessment as part of the medical. I have been unable to find anyone willing to carry out this service in Northern Ireland. Can anyone help please?

Hi AuntieS All occupational therapists have to be registered under the HCPC, so you should check they are registered to practice before getting the assessment. Your GP should be able to refer you, or sign post you. Otherwise if you look on the royal college’s website you can find an OT in your area. They may be working remotely at the moment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hope this helps.

Why private? You should be able to get an ot assessment via your local authority/nhs. There is a list of independent therapists on the rcot site
