Books to read to 4yr old son

Hi I'm new to the forum and we are about midway through our adoption journey, hoping to be approved by December. Our social worker has suggested we start to prepare our son for an adopted brother or sister by reading books to him, she gave me some that I though were a wee bit advanced for him. Any suggestions would be appreciated. X

Hi, Todd Parr writes some lovely books for little ones. He writes about families looking different in make up and they are bright fun books

Hi, our son was 4 yrs when we were in the approval process and 6 yrs on placement of little brother. We used some of the books mentioned and others on adoption to prepare him, which helped on an intellectual level to explain things. However what we discovered post placement was that the emotional implications were completely lost on him and he really struggled to process his feelings. We have since discovered 'no matter what' , 'and tango makes three' and 'the huge bag of worries' which for our son have been a bigger help in allowing him to explore his feelings/insecurities with us.
