whats a matching meeting??

hi everyonewell we have had a tough time recently but had a meeting last week with our sw, the lo sw, family finder and our los foster carer. we were shown a video of lo and more photos and told all about his routine etc. We are the only couple short listed.We got told that everyone at the meeting were really impressed by us and lo''s sw was happy to proceed with the match!! We were meant to be having a ''matching meeting'' monday but it was moved to wednesday today as someone higher up is off i was just wondering what happens in these meetings and why a senior sw is there? was hoping that we were almost there but is this something everyone has ? stessy!!

Our agency did the matching/linking meeting as soon as we had agreed an interest in the child our SW showed us prior to us meeting his SWs/Medical Advisor/After Adoption Support so they all habe their own routesThe matching/linking meeting had the agency manager the LOs SW and our own SW in it

Yes, I had a matching meeting. And from the way my SW talked, it was something she had done many times before. They looked at the LO in question and me and then discussed how we were a good match, e.g. in terms of LOs personality etc and mine, the environment I could provide, whether I could support LO with things that they seemed they could be interested in and so on. And, someone senior was at the meeting. I don't believe adopters go but I did get sent the paperwork to look at. I then had to write something about why this LO and sign off the paperwork. I do believe it is standard procedure for some LA's. I actually found it helpful to see in writing why LO and I were considered a good match. Though as has been discussed on these boards, I am not really that sure how scientific the matching process really is.Hope that helps - well, a bit!!! And, hope all goes well and that you will soon be headed to matching panel.
