Our daughter has moderate deafness inher right ear due to nerve damage, she also has global learning difficulties and CAMHS are fairly certain she has ADD.My question is can she have the above and also have auditory processing disorder, having looked into it she does seem to fulfill a lot of the criteria.Thank you

I should have said she has perfect hearing in her left ear and wears a power hearing aid in her right.

Our eldest had hearing loss in his right ear due to neglected ear infections and a huge perforation. They refused to look at any diagnosis of APD until he was 12 and had had a successful graft, and his hearing had come to within normal limits. A clinical audiologist then made a diagnosis of APD, but also said he had a lot of ADD symptoms. She would have referred him on at that point, but we have waited until he is 15 and are now rethinking as he is really struggling in school despite strategies put in place for APD.BB

Hello for APD you would need a referral to a Peadiatric Audiologist. My bs who is 10 was diagnosed 5 years ago and he had speech and language difficulties from age 3 and probably still has. I don't think he has any other diagnosis, I find that is enough in itself. He is statemented at school. If you would any other info please pm me. x. X
