our little 1 who we have wanted to adopt since he was 3,we are foster carers who have had this little 1 since he was 1.he is now 5 and a half.we went through nearly a year of very intense assessments,then a year of being told we were going to panel next month ,for nearly every month last year.the birth mum then opposed the adoption order she opposed it before our application to adopt went in.and it was all kicked into the court arena.the last 5 and a half months have been sostressful.we finally went to matching and approval panel in january,we put our adoption application in straight away.last week ,we had more intense time in court over a few days.with lots of arguing between all the parties. as mum was still being given her chance to oppose at the same time.in the end the order went through and he is truly ours for ever now..would i do it again ,,well last week i said no never ever ever ...i have great respect for you adopters who chose to go through the process for what ever reason ,we were given our little person ,to care for and learned to love him over the last 4 years. this week now things have settled down,and we can make the decisions for our little person,we feel our family is complete,,,well all our birth children are in their 20''s, and we will continue fostering.so for the time being we are enjoying being mummy and daddy again to a 5 year old..x
