Hi,Any white "other" families out there? We have 3 nationalities between us, all white but from differents points of the globe (one of them being British). Are there any other white mixed families? Also were you considered only for "white other" children or for British children too? Thanks.S

I am white from another European country, DH is white English, and we live in Scotland. They were not trying to match my nationality, but they did note during HS that because of our background and our diverse network (we have a lot of different ethnic groups in our wider family and friends) we would be suited to a child with perhaps some unusual component to their heritage - but it wasn't limited to those. Our children are half-siblings with a Scottish birth mum, and one Scottish father and one oriental.

I always put myself as "white other" on forms, we are adopting from overseas as it turns out but with some of my family in the country we're adopting from, some in other European countries and some in the UK our SW was happy we'd be able to "promote diversity".I remember pointing out to her that ethnicity A which is one of the ethnicities in my family's home country is not the same, although the names are similar, to ethnicity B which is where my brother and his family live - she did already know that but her point was we have diversity in the family, though most of us are "white", so we'd be better able to promote it in our children.
