Ed Psych- how much background info to tell

Hi, I know this topic has been done often before but a search has not brought up anything. If you can remember starting or contributing to a thread on this can you please direct me to it,Thanks

Yes I would tell them all the important background information too.It will be hard for them to advise the best way to help your child without it.

School won't necessarily see all the stuff. I sent information to the Ed Psych but made it very clear to him that a lot of it was confidential to him and that it was not to be shared with all and sundry. School know a lot about middly but not all the detail -and they don't need to but in order for Ed Psych to assess properly then he needed more background info.

Thank you all, the issues you have raised were exactly the concerns I have about giving too much info as am so aware that once written into a report somewhere, it could be circulated at any later point. But it is so important to give enough info to be able to assess child properly. Shall formulate a summary and hope that will be sufficient, if not will have to elaborate, am not good at being put on the spot so need to decide how much to tell beforehand. As always thanks v much for responses
