Waiting, waiting, waiting!!!

Hi, I am a 31 year old single adopter. I was approve a few months ago and am now searching for a match! Have had a few disappointments so far, particularly when a social worker arranged a visit. I prepared lunch, cleaned the house, lost some sleep etc and then they cancelled!!! Now, I''m feeling really frustrated that I haven''t heard back from so many social workers!! No wonder there are so many little ones stuck in foster care when their social workers take three weeks to return an email! As anyone had similar problems? Any advise?

Horrible, isn't it?! All I can say is that it only takes 1 link, just 1, to work out right, and you will have your family. Sit tight, it's soooo frustrating, but you will get there in the end.

just gotta hang in there !I have been so frustrated with Simbas SWs, its hard but have to try and remember that SWs generally have huge workloads, for those who deal with child protection and family finding, often the children already in FC slip down the priority list because they are safe.I first received Simba's profile in July 2011, it took until October to receive an updated CPR and the SWs didnt come to see me until December ! Then it was a mad rush. Just have to be patient I'm afraid and enjoy your child free time

I got my link in October, had a link meeting in November, panel wasn't until March and I'm not starting intros for another 3 weeks! However, she was worth waiting for - sometimes I think it's all fate! Delays just keep things ticking over while the right child comes along!
