Contact a Family - Gay dads feature

ScottC-R July 7, 2015 14:25
Hi everyone One of our partners, Contact a Family are looking for a gay dad who parents a child with disabilities to take part in their organisation magazine in the next edition. Please see the information below for further details. Thank you. Senior Regional Manager Contact a Family supports families with disabled children across the UK. Whatever the condition, whenever they need us, wherever they are. We provide information, advice and support. We bring families together so they can support each other. We campaign to improve their circumstances, and for their right to be included and equal in society. One of our information channels is our organisational magazine Connected for families with disabled children and all those that work with them. It's packed with personal stories, great articles and useful resources – including some from parent carer forums! Each magazine has a theme and our next Autumn edition will focus on Dad’s with disabled children and is a real opportunity to showcase them and get their perspective on raising a disabled child. We are particularly looking for a story from Dad’s in a same sex relationship who have a disabled child and wondered if you and the rest of the team had any contacts through the adoption world to such a family? If you could do a call out to any contacts that would be great – anyone interested could contact my college Lucy Pratt ---- EMAIL REDACTED ---- who will discuss in more detail what aspect of being an adoptive dad to a disabled child they would like to share.
