spent time recently with my son who is an adult - he is in contact with both sides of his birth family ( white and Jamaican) and by coincidence I have been with him recently when he met a black cousin in a shop ( by chance) and white cousin at the seaside ( planned) he is trying to connect with both but it occured to me that his mixed heritage only really works in our family as he has adopted sisters with similar heritage and our family and friends network is actually multiracial wheras his birth families are more seperatefeel pleased that he belongs with us more than either of them although hope he can gain from his connections with them Jet
