Many thanks to those of you who replied to my questions about transition to secondary school on Monday evening. As it was, I had been thinking so much about how to manage AD''s interview at the new school that I completely overlooked the standard booklet the school had sent for us to complete, and so my daughter and I had to spend time on that. But your suggestions were great. Our daughter adores filling in paperwork so I can make a transition passport with her anyway. The school meeting was very helpful. Staff were friendly and AD asked me herself to mention that she is adopted and needs continuity and that she''d like the support of having her best friend put in the same class as herself. We spoke briefly to the Head of Inclusion and she was warm and welcoming to AD and said for me to ring her about AD''s needs. Sorry not replying in the usual way on these boards - I couldn''t open the second page and couldn''t follow the instructions about this! And apologies if I missed reading any replies that came after I checked the thread. I''ll look out for when the boards are working normally again.
