Hi EveryonePicking up on something that has just been posted on the adopters boards yesterday and today. Now - just a thought - please let me know if this is naive - BUT, why does anyone have to email the helpdesk to get a copy of something useful (to adoptive parents to give to schools) ????Why can''t someone in AUK (someone in the training dept perhaps) get some computer whizz kid in on work experience or something to trawl through all the stuff on the resource board and actually get all resources (from online users/ the helpdesk/ professionals) in to some sort of FAQ page (as suggested by another online user yesterday.Maybe this is going to come with the new message boards - if not, surely it is something that needs to happen. Some seasoned posters are so very generous with their time in informing the rest of us about where to look for relevent info on a particular part of our journey through adoption. Would it not be in everyones best interest if all this wealth of knowledge was easily reached by all at the touch of a few buttons rather than hoping that such an online user happens to see a request for help or information and has the time to respond.I would be really interested to hear our communities views on this and AUK''s view after a few days.Jellies

I think it's an excellent idea. It's noticeable that the same things come up over and over - what to buy before placement being one that spring to mind, how to manage introductions another - and I think it would be fantastic if there was a link on the front page to point new adopters/prospective adopters to such a resource. I imagine that it will take a little work but I do think it's a great idea.

Hi everyone,The two factsheets about talking to schools are produced by two other organisations, not Adoption UK, so we can't put them on our website, however if you visit the Members' Area there are a number of factsheets available to download. Also, there are a huge range of Special features on different issues - search the archive by keywords and this will bring up relevant features. On the new website (still coming soon...!) we will have a search function for the full site, so you will be able to search for, say 'education' and it will bring up any pages relevant to education on the site. This should make the content much more accessible I hope! Hope this helps.Danny

Could you not put the url link to the two sites that produce the factsheets that AUK don't produce?I'm sure they won't mind you doing that - and it doesn't breach copyright in any way.
