I can hardly believe its true. We start intros next week!!!I don''t post much on these boards but read them lots. I just wanted to tell you all. Hope that''s ok!

Congratulations, as an one of the 'older adopters' - we met our son 13 years ago! I remeber this as a very exciting and nerve-wracking time.Hope it all goes well and never worry about how much/little you read/post on here - the site is there when you need/want it and most people understand we all have differentways of using it.all the best for your future

Congratulations BerryBean! And well done for getting though so quickly!I started intros with my LO yesterday after starting out 2 years ago. After meeting him, the waiting suddenly seemed insiginificant!Good luck with your intros!

Thank you all for your kind repliesKKM - that's incredible news!! Hope it's still going so well.Quick question for the floor...our little one is literally just 1. Should we take her a present on the first day of intro's or leave it til later on? We weren't sure how low key to keep things or if this would be nice. Any thoughts would be gratefully recieved!!

Intros are hard and there are some things you may want to hold back until your lo is proper yours and at home- little presents and things to open would probably fit better once lo is part of your world on a daily basis and then the present is for lo at your home and part of new life and things- it may well be ignored as old familiar toys bring safe familiarity - so hold back and wait until you can enjoy it x

Hi BerryBean, did you do a DVD for your LO? I usually suggest when I meet prospective adopters that they include a stuffed toy in the DVdpD (usually leading the child round the house) which they can then bring along on the first day of introductions for the child to keep. If its past that stage now then don't worry too much about presents, after all the child has a huge present of new parents!!
