(lighthearted) How do your children see you?

Furcifer August 26, 2020 00:22

Well, it’s been a torrid (understatement alert) few months since lockdown life started, but tonight is the first time since February that I have had ANY time to myself as a single parent as DD1 is on a caravan holiday with a friend and DD2 has been invited to a sleepover at her grandparents.

I spoke to DD1 earlier and explained I was home alone and her assessment of how I’d be spending my time was absolutely killing:

“So, you’ll be having a glass of wine, reading your book and listening to Dolly Parton.”

How well my child knows me! And I’m not ashamed to admit that Dolly is my guilty little secret/pleasure. We’ve loved her as a family since we saw her at Glastonbury (trying desperately to reclaim some semblance of coolness here).

I thought it would be fun/interesting to ask how your children see you and how you would spend a relaxing child-free few hours to yourself?
