Books for new potential adopter wanted

JustAroundTheRiverbend January 23, 2019 12:30
Hi all, Does anyone have any books about adoption, the adoption experience, parenting children with trauma and attachment difficulties, Theraplay etc. I have huge list of potential books and can see that we will quickly spend a fortune on them so if anyone has anything they no longer need for sale I would be grateful! Thanks, JARB

Hi, if you are an Adoption UK member, you can borrow them from their lending library for free (excl shipping costs). https://www.adoptionuk.org/pages/search.aspx?idCategory=f81096fa-204d-4d72-88d0-7c9b6ae567b2

I would recommend this book by Cat McGill "Me, the Boy, and The Monster: Exploring the psychology of adoption and trauma". I've been lucky enough to have pre read, and think it would be hugely helpful to new adopters. Whilst not free the Kindle edition is only £3.99! It's out on Feb19th, get it here .... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Me-Boy-Monster-Exploring-psychology-ebook/dp/B07M9Z9DBX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1548273561&sr=8-1&keywords=the+boy+the+monster+and+me Good luck!
