I will google her straight away.We are currently battling our LEA (involving solicitors) to have our AS start school in Reception this September, as opposed to going straight into Yr1. We held him back in preschool this past year, not only because he is physically even smaller than those 'the year below' and is August born, but mainly because he has a lot of social and emotional difficulties as a result of early trauma. This really impacts on his ability to learn, as he shuts down when feeling insecure - which is quite a lot of the time.There is a national campaign about more flexibility for summer borns, but especially there should be obvious flexibility for those with early trauma.

Well it's highly unlikely any costs would be repaid as we have no right to appeal in court - only a judicial review, which wouldn't win us any costs. I doubt they will repay costs out of the goodness of their hearts, but yes we are running at about £2K so far : (Wrote her a loooong email. Hopefully will be helpful.

fo-fum,It's incredible to think that they are battling with you over a couple of thousand pounds. Yet in reality, that wouldn't place a foster child for a month! It seems ridiculous when you are simply wanting to set up your child for the best chance of success.Phoebe x

I made contact with Louise last week after an article she had written about lack of integrated working re; traumatised adopted children.I tweeted her and said education had not served my or many other adopters I know ,well. I sent her a long email and had a long conversation on the phone with her about the fiasco with EJ over the last 8 yrs. I also suggested she may like to take a look at this message board.So please, please email her too with your education fiasco's. If this is a way for adopters to get their stories told on mass - if the guardian don't run it - as a freelance, Louise can take it to whoever will be interested.Jellies

I have just noticed a request from AUK on the research and media board which looks like it may be from Louise. If so, and she has asked AUK for feedback, it may be that this thread, or the post with her personal details in it, may be removed. If so, don't despair, just use AUK as the medium. Jellies

I have just had confirmation that it is Louise who has made the request to AUK on the research and media board. Louise needs to be able to put some balance on the article and so desperately needs to talk to a minimum of 2 HT's who have fought the corner for traumatised adopted children with their LA to get traumatised children the level of education that every child deserves.So if any of you has a good news story as far as HT's or LA's or Ed Psych's who have stuck their necks out to get the right education in mainstream or to get a statement and specialist education - please contact the press officer at AUK .jellies
