Win a baby on TV

oatybix July 23, 2012 20:17
I was reading a magazine the other day and there was a small piece about a proposed TV show in New Zealand where infertile couples battle to win the unborn child of a pregnant woman who sits on a panel with other "experts" X factor style.I could hardly believe my eyes so I googled it and it does seem to be true (the idea, at least)http://www.nzherald.co.nz/television/news/article.cfm?c_id=339&objectid=10808242I really hope this show is never made- who on earth would watch it?

This rings a bell, or something very similar, from the past, done as a well crafted publicity stunt. Hoodwink the media into believing it's real and stir up the controversy. It's probably a legitimate adoption charity behind it, and all will become clear, with much red-facedness all round. Not to say it isn't tasteless, but that's generally the best way of stirring things up and getting people interested in real issues.

This is the one I was thinking of, produced to raise awareness of the organ donation crisishttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Grote_DonorshowVery high chance this NZ thing is in the same mould. Hope so anyway
