Petition against tick box excercise for assessing benefits

nixie August 10, 2012 12:02
The National Autistic Society are calling for action on tick box assessments by Atos when vulnerable people apply for benefits they need. Channel 4’s Dispatches: Britain on the sick, programme highlighted failings in the way that an assessment carried out by a company called Atos works for people with a disability. With only 15% of adults with autism in full time paid employment and a third without a job or benefits, we know that a significant number of adults with autism are being failed by a system, developed to support them. People with autism who don’t get adequate support often go on to develop more serious mental health problems that prove to be far more costly the public purse in the long-term. This needs to end. The National Autistic Society has launched a petition which will put pressure on Atos to to take action to solve these issues.Add your name by clicking or copying the link below into your internet browserhttp://e-activist.com/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=10&ea.campaign.id=15864Thanks
