Social Rules for Kids: the Top 100 Social Rules Kids Need to Succeed by Susan Diamond

Just starting to read through this - it's easy to dip in and out of - recommended by Heather Forbes. It's very prescriptive and really useful for parents trying to help their children navigate social situations. Every possible scenario is covered - well as near as I can tell! The chapter headings include :- Talking and Listening (rules 1-16) Friends (rules 17 - 34) School (rules 35 - 48) Bullying (rules 49 - 61) Feelings (rules 62 - 75) Body Language (rules 76 - 85) Manners (86 - 100) It's recommended really for anyone aged between 7 and 14 and what's good about it is that it gives the rules and then explains why they are necessary and how to follow them. One other point - the book is from the US so the slang and idiom list includes a few words/saysing that may not be used here. Most are relevant though and since slang and idioms constantly change it would necessarily have to be fairly flexible and so you would expect to delete and add where apropriate.
