Relieved

Kazzie June 26, 2013 22:35
That''s how I feel about DD''s imminent move to secondary school in September. Why? Simply because the new school get it. I don''t have to explain stuff again and again. They''re offering regular meetings to review her progress. Everyone from the reception staff to senior teaching staff are so welcoming. DD has been having transition sessions there over the last few weeks and the ladies on reception remember her name when she arrives and help her through the signing in process which really boosts her confidence to the extent that she''s looking forward to starting there. I know she has a statement and I''ve had to fight her corner for the last four years and her primary''s SENCo has been really supportive but I feel as though I have one less thing to worry about.

KazzieGreat to hear your optimism.I'm in a similar position regarding the start at secondary; though not quite got the same confidence about it yet. Time will tell; but he's been enjoying the link days, and has gone off happily in the taxi each day.Fingers crossed all goes well for both our LOs (and all other transitionees!)Chooky
