Shared parental leave/ pay

Has anyone used the shared parental leave.

We are about to adopt a second child and didn’t have access to shared parental leave the first time.

Would it be possible for my husband (higher earner) to take the 6 weeks at 90%, which will leave 33 weeks for me to take at £148.68.With the remaining 9 (13 -6 shared)weeks being unpaid. From what I have read we can take the time simultaneously. Which we would choose the first 6 weeks. I think this will help give us more bonding time.

Has anyone successfully done this or had experience of this?.
